The driver suggested starting one day earlier than planned, and it helped us avoid the crowd.

Our group was my parents, so timing and breaks mattered more than covering extra places. The hotel was simple, but the room was clean and that was enough for us. For our family, the arrangements worked well.
This was our first Char Dham trip and we were a little worried about the long journey. The overnight stops made it much more manageable. We loved the drive through Harsil Valley and had a peaceful Gangotri darshan. The driver was also very cooperative.
