Senior citizens should consult their doctor before this Char Dham Yatra and carry regular medicines with prescriptions. The route includes long hill drives, high-altitude areas and trekking at Yamunotri and Kedarnath. Maintain a comfortable pace with adequate rest, hydration and suitable meals. Relevant medical history, emergency contacts and any traveller-specific assistance requirements should be shared in advance.
Weather and road conditions can change across the Char Dham route. Rain, fog, low temperatures, peak-season traffic, landslides or temporary road closures may affect driving time and sightseeing schedules. Local restrictions can also require route or itinerary adjustments. Travel timings should therefore be treated as approximate, with traveller safety and practical road conditions taking priority.
The period from the official temple opening to June, and again from September until the temple-closing dates, is generally preferred for this Dham Yatra. Always confirm the current year's temple dates, weather, road conditions and helicopter operations before travel.
July and August are the main monsoon months and can bring heavy rain, landslides, road closures, delays and temporary suspension of helicopter services. Avoid these months when possible and check official advisories.
