Kedarnath Yatra Package Overview
Experience a short and well-planned Kedarnath Yatra by Helicopter from Haridwar with a comfortable two-night stay at Guptkashi and a same-day helicopter visit to Shri Kedarnath Dham. This 2 Nights 3 Days Kedarnath tour package is suitable for pilgrims who have limited travel time or prefer to avoid the long trekking route between Gaurikund and Kedarnath.
The journey begins from Haridwar with a scenic drive through the Garhwal Himalayas towards Guptkashi. The road follows the pilgrimage route through Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar and Rudraprayag before reaching Guptkashi. After hotel check-in, guests can spend a relaxed evening and, subject to available time, visit the ancient Ardhanarishwar Temple.
The most important part of the tour is the Phata to Kedarnath helicopter journey. On the second morning, guests are transferred from Guptkashi to the designated helipad at Phata. After completing reporting, security and boarding formalities, fly towards Kedarnath and proceed for darshan at Shri Kedarnath Temple. Darshan arrangements and access inside the temple remain subject to the procedures followed by the temple administration on the day of visit. After darshan, return by helicopter to Phata and continue by road to Guptkashi for an overnight stay.
On the final day, drive back towards Haridwar with an en-route visit to Rishikesh, subject to available time and road conditions. This compact Kedarnath helicopter package from Haridwar combines road transfers, accommodation and pilgrimage planning in a practical three-day itinerary. Helicopter schedules remain dependent on confirmed tickets, weather, aviation conditions and instructions issued by the concerned authorities.
Kedarnath Helicopter Service Details
Operational details remain subject to the allocated operator, weather and aviation permissions.
Fare & confirmation
Helicopter fare is subject to the applicable fare approved for the travel date and sector. Any revision in fare, taxes, convenience charges or other applicable charges before ticket issuance will be payable accordingly. The final helicopter cost will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Reporting & ID
Passengers should reach the designated helipad well in advance. Current HeliYatra instructions advise reporting at least 1 hour before the scheduled departure, with earlier arrival recommended for verification, weighing, security and check-in formalities. Late reporting may be treated as a no-show.
Baggage & weight
Carry only a small soft bag and avoid suitcases or bulky luggage. Kedarnath helicopter operations have strict baggage and aircraft-weight limitations; baggage allowance must be followed exactly as mentioned on the confirmed operator ticket. Where a 5 kg per passenger allowance applies, excess or oversized baggage may not be accepted for carriage.
Ground transfer
The package includes the scheduled road transfer Guptkashi to Phata Helipad to Guptkashi as per the itinerary. Any transfer arising from a change of helipad, rescheduling or operational diversion will be subject to actual arrangements and additional cost, if applicable.
Weather disruption
All Kedarnath helicopter flights are subject to weather, visibility, aviation clearance, technical conditions and government instructions. Flights may be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled at short notice. A particular cancelled slot is not automatically guaranteed accommodation on the next available flight.
Refund handling
If the helicopter service is cancelled by the operator due to bad weather, technical reasons or government orders, the eligible helicopter fare is refunded according to the applicable IRCTC/operator rules. Convenience fees and payment gateway/transaction charges may remain non-refundable. Refunds for eligible online bookings are generally credited back to the original payment source after verification. Hotel stay, meals, road transport or other expenses caused by a helicopter delay/cancellation are not automatically covered by the helicopter operator.
Child policy
Children 2 years and above generally require a full ticket and separate seat. Infants below 2 years may travel without a separate seat, subject to the applicable weight, age-proof and operator conditions. Carry the child's valid age proof/birth certificate where required.
Helicopter service reduces the main trek requirement, but walking, waiting time, altitude exposure and local transfers may still be involved.

Senior Citizen Planning
This Kedarnath Yatra by helicopter reduces the need for the long trek to Kedarnath, but it should not be treated as a completely effortless journey. Pilgrims still need to manage road travel, helipad formalities, walking near Kedarnath Temple, queues, steps, cold weather and a sudden change to a high-altitude environment. Senior citizens, particularly travellers aged 55 years and above, should plan the journey carefully and consider a pre-yatra health check. Travellers with a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes or other ongoing medical concerns should discuss high-altitude travel with their doctor and carry prescribed medicines. Helicopter travel does not remove the effects of altitude.
Weather & Road Advisory
Weather around Guptkashi, Phata and Kedarnath can change quickly even when conditions at Haridwar are clear. Rain, fog, cloud cover, snowfall, landslides or temporary road restrictions may affect both road transfers and helicopter operations. Helicopter departures are strictly weather and operational-condition dependent. Guests should therefore avoid planning tightly connected onward flights or trains immediately after the scheduled return. During the monsoon and late-season months, additional travel flexibility is strongly recommended.
Best Time for Kedarnath Yatra
The period from the official temple opening to June, and again from September until the temple-closing dates, is generally preferred for this Dham Yatra. Always confirm the current year's temple dates, weather, road conditions and helicopter operations before travel.
July and August are the main monsoon months and can bring heavy rain, landslides, road closures, delays and temporary suspension of helicopter services. Avoid these months when possible and check official advisories.
