A short WhatsApp update every evening would make the next morning easier.

I travelled with my parents and uncle for a few days away from work. We had rain for part of the day and the plan was adjusted reasonably. We had a clear idea of the next day's plan, which made mornings easier. It was a good, straightforward experience.
