One small suggestion: mention the longer driving days more clearly before departure.
I chose this itinerary because our family of five were joining and I did not want an overpacked schedule. The scenic stops between towns were as enjoyable as the main sightseeing. We were satisfied, though communication could be slightly faster on busy days.
