The longer travel days were balanced with lighter sightseeing where possible. The weather changed suddenly, so the extra buffer in the plan helped. The children liked the cooler weather and the open spaces. For our family, the arrangements worked well. We skipped one minor stop and used that time to rest, which suited our group better.
