I chose this itinerary because my husband and our daughter were joining and I did not want an overpacked schedule. There was no confusion about the main route or overnight stops. We spent less time shopping and more time at the places we had actually come to see. The winding roads were handled carefully and nobody in our group felt rushed. We returned with good memories, which was what we wanted. One thing I liked was that nobody objected when we asked to slow the day down a little.
It was my first time on this route and I was with our family of five. The itinerary worked better than trying to arrange local transport on our own. One small suggestion: mention the longer driving days more clearly before departure.
We planned this as a relaxed holiday, and I was travelling with my wife. The children enjoyed the outdoor stops more than the market area. We returned with good memories, which was what we wanted.
