We had been talking about this trip for a while, so I finally went with my mother and aunt. We spent less time shopping and more time at the places we had actually come to see. The car was neat and the AC worked well on the warmer parts of the trip. There was no confusion about the main route or overnight stops. The trip was good overall; just a little more advance timing information would help. We kept one evening free instead of adding more sightseeing, and that was a good decision.
