We did not feel that places were added just to make the itinerary look bigger. We kept one evening light and just walked around nearby instead of adding more sightseeing. One small suggestion: mention the longer driving days more clearly before departure.

The old city section was busy but worth seeing. The longer travel days were balanced with lighter sightseeing where possible. Happy with how the journey was handled. One thing I liked was that nobody objected when we asked to slow the day down a little.
