The scenic stops between towns were as enjoyable as the main sightseeing. We stopped at a normal local restaurant for lunch and it was better than expected. The longer travel days were balanced with lighter sightseeing where possible. For our family, the arrangements worked well.

Traffic was heavy near one town, but the rest of the day was relaxed. We kept one evening light and just walked around nearby instead of adding more sightseeing. I would recommend the itinerary to families who prefer a relaxed pace.
