We joined from another city and were a little unsure about coordination, especially with two friends. The itinerary worked better than trying to arrange local transport on our own. The children liked the cooler weather and the open spaces. Road travel took time, but the driver was patient about tea and washroom breaks. The basic arrangements were okay, though updates during travel could be more consistent.
After a long gap, we finally managed a school-holiday trip with my father and younger brother. The scenic stops between towns were as enjoyable as the main sightseeing. One small suggestion: share the next day's start time a little earlier.
