After a long gap, we finally managed a comfortable road trip with my parents and uncle. We did not feel that places were added just to make the itinerary look bigger. The children were tired by evening, so having some free time helped. The hill drive itself was one of the nicest parts of the trip. One small suggestion: mention the longer driving days more clearly before departure.
Our group was my parents and two kids, so timing and breaks mattered more than covering extra places. The driving felt safe and there was no unnecessary speeding. Nothing major went wrong, though a little more proactive communication would improve the service.
