This trip was mainly for my wife; I just wanted the days to be easy for everyone. We spent less time shopping and more time at the places we had actually come to see. We enjoyed the trip and would only suggest more detail about the longer travel days.
We had been talking about this trip for a while, so I finally went with two friends. The monuments were crowded, but the sightseeing order saved a lot of time. The route was covered, but there is room to improve communication and daily timing.
After a long gap, we finally managed a pilgrimage we had been planning for months with three college friends. The order of stops made sense and avoided unnecessary backtracking. I would recommend the itinerary to families who prefer a relaxed pace.
